New way to claim your YouTube artist page

A recent fan question has brought to light the need to update the process by which you can claim a YouTube artist page.
RIGO asked on WordPlay T. Jay’s page: “Hey I have a problem, I messaged YouTube doing all of the instructions you told me, but they auto responded talking about some “they won’t respond right away because of Coronavirus” it was an automated message. Will they still eventually reply? Or how does that work?”
As it turns out, YouTube has changed how it allows artists to claim pages, specifying that it must go through the distributor now.
“The great thing about doing this is you will get a big jump in subs because those who listen on your other channel will be automatically subbed to the official channel,” T. Jay said.
First off, you must make sure your YouTube channel is connected to your artist page.
For claiming a page through CDBaby, log in and click “claim an official artist page with YouTube.” Then, click “get access” and choose the account and channel you wish to claim.
To claim a channel through DistroKid, log in, then go to “more” and “streaming service goodies” and “claim YouTube.” From there, you can select an artist and link to YouTube. You are required to be logged in to Google and be an admin on the account to be able to link it.
